The Help Veterans Own Franchises Act

In advance of Memorial Day, Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida and Sen. Bob Casey of Pennsylvania have re-introduced bipartisan legislation that would help veterans own their own franchise business. The Help Veterans Own Franchises Act calls for the creation of a tax credit for veterans and their spouses who purchase a franchise. The tax credit would amount to 25 percent of the total initial franchise fee and is capped at $100,000. Let us hope this legislation moves through the legislative process quickly to reward veterans who have served and to create more jobs through franchised businesses.
